Yesterday a nesting quality came over me that inspired me to prepare, prepare, prepare! I felt like I was nine months pregnant again; organizing and cleaning while I anxiously awaited on the arrival of my sweet baby. But this time, I guess I was just feeling an overwhelming urge to take care of my family. I bought candles, I made pumpkin soup, baked cookies, got all Sages diapers and wipes cleaned. I bought ice and extra milk, and gave Sage a bath. If the power goes out (which it most likely will) I have a tin bucket that I'm going to fill with ice...I'm hoping this will keep all our cold items cold until we can get them back into a refrigerator. I think I'm prepared. Now we just wait, i guess, and see what's in store.

calm before the storm
Hurricane Sandy is on her way. It's Monday and from what our internet updates tell us she should be hitting our area in a few hours. It's rainy outside now, so I'm assuming these weather reports are correct. We don't receive any television stations on our tv, so I'm feeling very disconnected from this storm, or at least the information the general public knows about the details of this storm. I have to say, I like this disconnect, though. It's fun to watch the sky for clues as to where Miss Sandy is. Right now the sky is gray, i can't even really detect any cloud build up, it's just gray and rainy and a little windy.
